Three UCF football players test positive for corona-virus a week after training resumes on campus.
Just one week on the Knights football program at the University of Central Florida, starting exercises with individual players, three players tested positive for corona-virus.
Sixty students returned to campus last week to start voluntary individual training schemes, as part of a first wave of student athletes invited to return to campus. And even under new social and cleansing regimes, UCF confirmed yesterday that three players have already tested positive.
UCF Athletics has stated that contact tracking will be carried out and the Florida Department of Health will advise the program on tracking people in close contact.
While college athletics tries to participate in the gradual reopening of the country, several NCAA programs have seen players tested positive for coronavirus, including Auburn, Texas Tech, Florida, Marshall and Oklahoma.
Athletes are currently quarantined on campus and the UCF COVID-19 medical team will monitor symptoms during this time. These cases have been reported to the Orange County Department of Health. Meanwhile, training will continue, according to Spectrum News 13.
